PRESS RELEASE InnoNets, in Brindisi focus on "Urban food policy - food strategies for the urban regions of Puglia"

Bari, 9 July 2019 - The workshop will take place in Brindisi on 11th July at Palazzo Granafei Nervegna in two sessions (from 10 to 12.30 and from 13.30 to 15) on: "Urban food policy - food strategies for urban regions della Puglia” part of the InnoNets - Innovative Networks for the Agrifood sector project, funded under Interreg VA Greece-Italy, which aims to encourage territorial cooperation between the Puglia Region and the Ionian Islands Region (in Greece) in the agri-food sector .

 

At the opening of the workshop, organized by the Polytechnic of Bari, the session shall be dedicated to "Food strategies for the urban regions of Puglia" starting at 10.30. Introduction to the works shall be done by Dino Borri, Councilor for the planning of the territory of the Municipality of Brindisi, following by the presentation of the project "Innonets-Innovative Networks for the Agrifood Sector" (Carmelo M. Torre, Polytechnic of Bari together with the representatives of the Puglia Region / ARTI and Legacoop Puglia); "For a food community: biodiversity and traditional Apulian vegetables" (Pietro Santamaria, University of Bari "Aldo Moro"); paths of social innovation in the agri-food sector (Roberto Covolo, councilor for active labor, youth and common goods policies of the Municipality of Brindisi); "Innovative territorial policies and local cooperation: critical issues and perspectives" (Stefano De Rubertis, University of Salento).

 

From 13:00 to 14:00 there will be a break with refreshments, it will resume during the afternoon session with the presentation of the Living Lab "Food strategies for the urban regions of Puglia" (Alessandro Bonifazi, Polytechnic of Bari). The open discussion will be attended by: Livia J. Dell'Anna, Gianfranco Ciola (Director of the Alto Salento 2020 Local Action Group), Antonio Capriglia (Bio Solequo Cooperative, urban gardens of the Grata Gardens in Ostuni), Roberto Paladini (Innovaction Soc. Coop ., Compost Community - platform for the management of organic waste), Armando Balestrazzi (Masseria Il Frantoio, Ostuni), Boer Il Contadino (Tuturano), Fabio Zullo (Masseria Masciullo, Brindisi), Piero D'Amico (Consortium of PDO oil "Collina di Brindisi"), Alessandro Colucci, (president of the Agronomy / Forestry Order of the Province of Brindisi), Maria Grazia Piepoli (ITS Agro-food Foundation Puglia), Felice Suma, agronomist, Bio certifier and Antonio Legittimo (Director of the Action Group Local Land of Messapi)

 

The appointments are implemented in the framework of the InnoNets project, financed by the Interreg VA European Territorial Cooperation Program Greece-Italy, which aims to encourage territorial cooperation in the agri-food sector between the Puglia Region and the Ionian Islands Region (in Greece): the idea is to focus on innovation facilitation processes for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), pursued through thematic meetings involving research organizations, businesses, local government bodies and civil society.

 

Project partners, in addition to the Ionian Islands Region (Greece) which is the leader, also the Corfu Chamber of Commerce, the Puglia Region - Department of Economic Development, Innovation, Education, Training and Work with the technical support of ARTI, the Polytechnic of Bari and the Regional League of Cooperatives and Mutua di Puglia (Italy). Associated partners are the Hellenic-Italian Chamber of Commerce in Thessaloniki and the University of Basilicata.
